Control PDF files in Firefox & Internet Explorer

The PDF Download add-on for Firefox, Flock and Internet Explorer lets you control what happens when you click on Web-based PDF files in your browser, helping you eliminate those delays and crashes that can occur.

PDF Download lets you choose your preferred method of handling Web-based PDFs. You can configure it to automatically do the same thing every time you click on a PDF file, or have it prompt you each time to select the appropriate option for the circumstance. The settings below explain all the options you can choose from (also shown in the screenshots to the right):

Download it. Immediately downloads the PDF to your computer.
Open PDF. Opens the PDF in a PDF viewer (based on your settings).
View as HTML. The PDF is converted to a Web page for your viewing.
View online. View the exact contents and layout of Web-based PDF files, without using a dedicated PDF viewer
Bypass PDF Download. This ignores PDF Download and allows the browser to handle the PDF file the way it would if PDF Download was not installed.
File size. The size of the PDF file is displayed in the dialog. (This is only shown when you have configured PDF Download to prompt you each time you click on a PDF.)
Advanced. Use the advanced settings to turn off ('exclude') PDF Download from working for particular web sites. Quickly turn PDF Download on/off straight from the Status bar.
